We’re working on an exciting project related to education – a niche that we’re super passionate about as a mission-led design studio.

When there’s any new project that we’re building from the ground up, we take pride in conducting research across all mediums – from websites to social media, and even different forms of art and design.

So one of the places we looked was flaticon.com, born from Freepik Company – an awesome business that provides high-quality content: illustrations, photos, icons, mockups, and presentations templates.

Without further ado, here are some awesome Education Icon Packs I discovered on flaticon.com:

Kindergarten | Flat

What immediately stood out to me was the pastel colours that give off a cute, child-like mood. The little sparkle detail also add a nice touch of wonder. This pack is especially good if your project is to do with toddlers and children below the age of 7.

Education | Flat

In an identical style to the pack above, this icon pack focuses on education in general as opposed to kindergarten education. Featuring the same colours and sparkle accent, this pack is sure to look lovely in an education product that has a similar light and approachable theme.

International Childrens Day | Flat

This pack is excellent for education projects to do with international schools and children.

Education | Lineal color

The icons in this pack have a cartoon-like look to them. It should also be noted that the icons in the packs throughout this post are not very suitable to be used as call-to-action icons like in the bottom bar of mobile applications. For one, these icons are too detailed to be used in such a small size. I would say these icons should be at least 64 pixels in width and height.

With that being said, these icons would work amazing as illustrations throughout your product. They can also be used in the onboarding screens or in blog posts.

Back to School | Gradient

3D illustration and design has become so popular especially with the influx of Web3.0 projects. Who says the education sector can’t be futuristic and innovative as well? In fact, there are a lot of augmented reality and virtual reality tools being used in classrooms now, and we hope to make such technologies accessible to even more schools.

With that being said, here’s an example of a gradient-style icon pack. I love the use of gradients to give the icons more dimension. This pack in particular is great also because of the colours used. It’s not as bright which may be difficult on the eyes. Instead, the colours are a little more muted and warm, giving off a friendly and approachable vibe.

I wanted to add this pack into the list because of the colours used. It’s not only a really nice combination of colours, it’s also very consistent! It’s not straight-up primary red, blue, and yellow. There’s a warm tint to the red, yellow, blue, and green, making them a nice touch to any product.

Stationery | Color

Stationery is such a crucial part to any school so it would be a miss to not explore how icon packs design stationery illustrations. This one is nice due to its three-dimensional gradient style.

The colours are also muted, which gives off a more mature look compared to the pastel pinks and purples we saw in the kindergarten icon pack above.

Stationery | Color

Last but not least, this is another stationery icon pack which is very consistent with its blue hues and brown accents. There’s something boyish about this icon pack, perhaps it’s this particular shade of blue.

Nonetheless, the sharper edges of the illustrations give this pack a more clean and serious look – great for more professional and official websites and products.
